Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Bound Labs ("Bound") handles account data, relationship content, and privacy for the Bound app. Bound is a private app for couples. It is designed to help two people stay connected through check-ins, shared notes, plans, agreements, rituals, and other relationship tools without turning the relationship into a public experience.
What you provide
To use Bound, you provide account information such as your email address and password. You may also provide profile details such as a display name, relationship dates, and the content you choose to save in the app.
What relationship content may be stored
Depending on the features you use, Bound may store check-ins, Intimacy Check entries, notes, tasks and plans, agreements, boundaries, wishlists, daily question responses, comments, reactions, daily photos, and other relationship content you choose to create or share with your partner.
Bound also stores some account and app-operation data, including couple membership records, invite codes, notification settings, push notification tokens, and limited operational event telemetry.
How privacy is protected
The app is built around a couples-only model. There are no public profiles, no discovery features, and no social feed.
Sensitive content is encrypted on your device before it is stored. This includes things like note bodies, check-in reflections, agreement text, boundary text, wishlist notes, task details, and other sensitive fields. Bound also uses secure storage on the device for encryption keys.
Some fields are not encrypted today. For example, some titles and certain metadata may remain in plaintext.
What is not public
Bound is not designed as a public community. Other users cannot browse your profile, search for your relationship, or view your private content through a public feed.
Operational telemetry
Bound uses limited write-only operational telemetry tied to an app-specific device identifier. This telemetry is used for a small set of app events, such as app open, pairing complete, trial start, subscription started, and subscription canceled. It is not used to store relationship data or emotional content.
Ads and data sales
Bound does not show ads and does not sell or share user data for advertising.
Health Connect and Sleep Data
Bound may offer an optional feature that allows you to import sleep-related information from Android Health Connect. Bound only accesses Health Connect data if you choose to enable this feature and grant the required permission.
When enabled, Bound may access sleep-related data such as sleep session start time, sleep session end time, sleep duration, and sleep-quality signals derived from that data. Bound uses this information only to support app functionality, such as sleep-aware check-ins, morning reset suggestions, personal reflection, and relationship wellness context.
Bound does not use Health Connect data for advertising. Bound does not sell Health Connect data. Bound does not use Health Connect data to train AI models.
Bound does not share Health Connect data with third parties except service providers necessary to operate the app and provide the requested functionality. Health Connect data is handled securely and transmitted using modern encryption such as HTTPS where transmission is required.
If you choose to save a check-in that includes sleep-related context, related sleep-derived app data may be stored in Bound's backend infrastructure and protected according to Bound's security model.
You can revoke Bound's access to Health Connect data at any time through Android settings or Health Connect settings. You can also delete your Bound account from within the app, which deletes associated Bound account data according to this Privacy Policy.
Data Retention and Deletion
Bound stores account and relationship data only for as long as needed to provide the app's features or as required for legal, security, or operational purposes.
If you delete your Bound account, we delete your account data and associated relationship data from our systems, including check-ins, notes, tasks, daily photos, relationship entries, and pairing records, subject to limited retention where required for legal, fraud prevention, billing, security, or dispute-resolution purposes.
Because Bound uses client-side encryption, Bound does not have access to the plaintext contents of encrypted relationship data.
How to delete your data
You can delete your account and data directly inside the Bound app:
Settings → Account → Delete Account
When you confirm deletion, Bound removes your account and associated app data from our backend systems. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.

Subscription and billing records
Bound does not directly process subscription payments. Subscriptions, cancellations, refunds, and payment records are managed by the applicable app store, such as Google Play or Apple App Store. Some billing-related records may be retained by those providers according to their own policies.
